Should the government be more open about Brexit?
Do any of us really know what is going on in the negotiations?
Brexit Update
One of the things I find frustrating about this government is their tendency to do everything in secret. The Pandemic has shown that if you provide people with a clear explanation of what is happening you are more likely to get them on your side.
The daily Covid briefings were and are a success.
Why, oh why, doesn’t the government learn from this.
Brexit facts are in short supply but the internet is aloud to the opinions of every Tom, Dick and Harry who know as much as I do. I’m tired of Laura Keunssberg from the BBC who constantly reports on ‘sources’ or ‘highly placed officials’ as her source.
Who are these sources, can they be trusted, are they working to their own agenda, are they for Brexit or against? We don’t know. Due to a lack of information we allow the general view to prevail that the government is hiding something. We heard today that the EU is accused of making new demands at the 11th hour - what are they?

The government has to learn from Covid and be honest with us about where the negotiations are, what are the problems and what we need to do to support them.
Winston Churchill, whom the PM claims to be a great admirer of, was a master at using information to galvanise the population during WW2. His briefings were essential in getting the support of the people behind his government.
